New self storage aggregator study released

Self Storage Aggregator Report New self storage aggregator study released Randy Smith, the author of “Dancing With The Devil. How the Self Storage Industry is Selling It’s Soul…”, just released the first part of an ongoing two-part "study" which includes comments collected from industry operators about their experiences and opinions on business lead aggregators.

Smith is the outspoken Director of a Texas based self-storage facility who launched a well orchestrated full-scale attack on the many new business aggregation websites that plague his industry in January.

His objective is conveyed using a fast moving, loud, and somewhat controversial, 6-minute video message that is displayed as part of his personal crusade at NoStorageAggregators.com.

“The Self Storage Aggregator Opinion & Usage Report” is a compilation of responses received from an internet survey entitled “The Self Storage Aggregator Opinion / Usage Survey” that was originally sent to approximately 5,000 contacts in the self storage industry.

Part One of the report details the responses of the 233 completed responses to the 13 issues addressed in the survey.

According to Smith, Part Two will be released in the near future and will take a more in-depth look at the data from different vantage points in the self storage industry.

Randy Smith will share his thoughts as part of a Special General Session industry panel that will discuss “The Role of Aggregators in the Self Storage Industry” at the Self-Storage Association's Fall Conference & Trade Show scheduled for September 5-7, 2012 at Caesars Palace, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Other panelists include: Michael Riva, President, Stor-It-All, Inc. (moderator); Tron Jordheim, VP Marketing, StorageMart / President, Phone-Smart; Mike Harley, President, Smart Storage Concepts; and Michael Tolva, Director of Operations for The Store House.
