Who has liftvans for sale?By Eric Anders • Jun 27th, 2012 • Category: Containerized Freight, Mobile / Portable Storage, WHAT'S NEW
It's a question I'm being asked a lot lately.
The entire household goods moving industry is fighting over any available liftvan or mobile/portable container capacity they can find this summer – especially as the backlog of hard-to-service, unassigned small shipments still sitting on the dock or warehouse floor continues to grow!
To meet this growing need, CDS Moving Equipment Inc. www.cds-usa.com has just announced the production of a brand new, full-sized corrugated liftvan for van line agents and independent movers located primarily on the west coast.
Their new, easy-to-use small move product is shipped and delivered knocked down. As the video below demonstrates, the EZ Truck Pak can be assembled in just a matter of minutes without tools by two people who don't know what they're doing.
The unit weights just 171 pounds – approximately half the weight of a traditional SDDC approved Military Type II wooden liftvan.
When set up, the 186 cu. ft. small shipment container sits on a specially designed solid wood pallet that allows it to be loaded with 800-1300 lbs of household goods, personal effects, trade show material, new products, record storage, or miscellaneous freight.
The heated treated pallet allows the CDS corrugated liftvan to used for both domestic and international shipping needs. As of this writing, the new CDS corrugated liftvan had NOT been ASTM tested or military approved!
According to Randy Williams, product manager at CDS, their EZ Truck Pak can be drop shipped to any address in the U.S. – with or without the wood pallet. Some customers save money on the freight transpiration cost building or purchasing the slotted tray at a location near them.
Since the EZ Truck Pak liftvan is approximately 50% lighter than it's wooden counterpart, the saving in freight transportation costs can be used to offset the $129 purchase price of one new container. The price drops to $117 for orders of six or more of the CDS liftvan.
Knocked down, five EZ paks can be stored inside using the same amount of floor space as one fully assembled rigid wooden liftvan. Add in the labor savings for assembly and disassembly, a this new CDS corrugated liftvan has the potential of providing affordable value to everyone who uses it.
