PODS by Drewesque @ Flickr 10195770023 PODS posts more than 250 jobs opportunitiesSeveral years ago during a private vu déjà moment in which he shared his retirement plans, a well respected captain of the moving industry predicted that the rapid growth of the the do-it-yourself mobile/portable container market and self-storage facilities would challenge – and perhaps eventually overshadow – the revenue volume of most full service movers. No wonder he was so anxious to go fishin'

Apparently he was partially right – at least according the folks at Portable On Demand Storage (PODS). Recently Lisa Goettel, senior vice president of HR at the eleven year-old mobile container company announced plans to hire 255 customer and call center representatives at its corporate headquarters in Florida and several cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. During the last few years, many corporate relocation companies and full-service moving and storage operators have trimmed their ranks as a result of declining business levels.

Although many of these new opportunities are non-exempt, entry level positions that pay, on average, $10-12 per hour, PODS expects to hire 30 to 45 new employees each month between now and May 2010. Good news perhaps for some displaced relocation workers living in states with higher than average unemployment.

Interested job applicants can learn more about all of these call center jobs by visiting the PODS website at www.pods.com/careeropportunities.asp or checking out the detailed seasonal position requirements at the company's Clearwater, Florida location at Career Builder.
