POLL: 2010 moving industry business volume YTD

By • May 11th, 2010 • Category: COMMENTARY, Polls

As we approach mid-May and the kick off of the traditional peak-moving season, the buzz in the business is definitely more upbeat than this time just last year.

It appears more estimates are being done, local and long distance crews are being hired and trained, equipment is being purchased and prepped, and pencils are being sharpened. Is that your experience? If so, what is your office doing differently compared to last year to get ready for the summer onslaught of new customers?

Recently several colleagues tried to start informal straw polls in a few relocation related social communities and professional networking sources inquiring about YTD moving and storage industry volume. Based on the results, it seems the folks in management must be so busy they haven't had time to respond.

The following poll will be posted for 30 days to allow interested participants to anonymously list their YTD businesses volume results for their market. It's not official, won't be audited, and shouldn't be taken for anything more than what it is – a show of hands. The more hands, hopefully, the better the information.

Feel free to complete it based on your own business results and share it with your friends, comrades, colleagues and associates in your circle of influence within the moving industry.

Each respondent can make up to seven (7) selections – one for each business category. After it's completed, users can view the tabulated results. Send (or retweet) it to your 'beer buds' and 'gal pals' and ask them to 'vote'. Comments can be added in the 'Leave a Reply' section underneath.

Based on the level of interest and number of responses, a subsequent poll may be posted in June to measure the level of change from the previous month.

If there are other topics or information which you'd like to see polled here, send a note to inforeloroundtable[at]gmail.com with your suggestions.
